That's a lot of ethanol and biodiesel, and it offers prime transportation and distribution opportunities. Virtually all biofuels must be moved by truck and rail at this time, which means new business for many of the companies involved with these transport modes."

"How many times have you passed a state trooper or other police officer dealing with a trucker or motorist stopped on the side of the road– and we are talking flashing lights, the whole works here– and you have not bothered to move one lane over, even if that lane was wide open? Well, shame on any of us who has not given that officer as much of a safety cushion as humanly possible."

Elaborate scheme suspected in Ferrellgas
embezzlement suit

From kccommunitynews.com:

"A former Ferrellgas fleet manager accused of embezzling more than $3 million from the company apparently had help from outside sources.

In an amended court petition filed April 7, the company named employees from three other vendors who allegedly cooperated with Scott Beeson in creating false invoices for services they did not actually perform for Ferrellgas.

According to court documents, the results of an internal audit revealed Beeson 'instructed and directed the vendors and representatives of the vendors on how and when to submit invoices to Ferrellgas. He further instructed them on where to send or wire money received from Ferrellgas. The vendors complied with Beeson’s instructions.'

The audit revealed funds for the fraudulent services were re-routed from the company’s accounts payable department to Beeson’s personal bank account."

About Truck Amok

What is Truck Amok?

Truck Amok is a blog that was created in March 2008 that seeks to combine a variety of trucking industry news sources and put them into one place.

It is not affiliated with one publication in particular and in no way intends to be a for-profit site. However, a handful of sites, including Fleet Owner, Bulk Transporter, Refrigerated Transporter and Trailer/Body Builders are primarily used as sources and are often linked directly to.

What can I expect to find at Truck Amok?

I try to provide links that I think others in the trucking industry might enjoy, and I also occasionally try to post fun bits of info to keep the site fresh and fun to come back to.

Can I make a suggestion?

Please. I am open to any and all suggestions that might make the site more interesting or useful to its readers. I'd love to hear comments or suggestions from anybody that stumbles upon the site.

Thanks for reading and I hope you come back!

Type "(Your name)" into Google. Don't actually type 'your name' but type YOUR OWN name. Use the quote marks, too, because that trims down your results. Find someone with the same name and tell us a little bit about them.

For example, the first Googleganger of mine that I found was wounded in Iraq and is a well-known hero in his hometown.
